JV baseball riding nine-game streak

It’s halfway through the season and the JV Bucks are looking better than ever. They have won most of their games and look forward to finishing the season strong since their record is 13-3-1.

“It’s been a great season so far,” said team member Kyle Schultz. “Our team is pretty good, and I don’t think we need to improve on anything. At the rate we’re going, we’re going to end the season strong.”

Trey Marriott has a similar tone to Schultz but thinks there is room for improvement.

“We are a good team, but we need to improve on defense,” said Marriott. “If we fix that, and concentrate on making fewer errors, we will end the season great.”

The team is playing a long-time rival, Elko, on April 19 and 20. Assistant coach Don Walton said, “I’ve been coaching for 10 years, and this is one of the best teams I’ve seen. We could improve on defense, but our hitting makes up for it. Elko’s a fitting end to the league season.

If we play as we’ve been playing, we’ll stand a good chance of making it.”
