The girls worked hard this season to improve each day to become a team. The girls think there was a lot of improvement made along the way.

“It was a lot of positive and fun things,” said Matti DeLong.” “We improved a lot, there was a lot of improvement going on and it was a lot of fun.”

“Overall, it was a good season, we lost quite a few games at the beginning of the season but we came back strong towards the end,” said Macy Whitted. “We struggled at the beginning with it and that’s why we got let down so much, we could never work together on the court, but once we got our groove going we were a different team.”

Coach Alyssa Jones also agrees that the team just needed to come together.

“I knew they had a lot of potential, we just had to get there,” said Jones. “From the start of the season to the end, our team saw huge improvements.”

During the season being around people of the same age and spending time with one another for a couple of months creates bonds and many memories. For DeLong, it was spending time with teammates on the long bus rides. Whitted liked the time spent at practice with teammates.

“My favorite memory was definitely practicing, whether we won or lost I think we all enjoyed each other’s company, for me, there was never a dull moment at practice,” said Whitted.

Basketball is a very competitive sport and having a favorite win of the season is differently something to remember.

“Oh my, Spring Creek game, I mean, we won, but I made all my free throws that game, like almost all my free throws,” said DeLong.

Sometimes working with people on a team can be hard. Getting back into a groove with other people can be difficult sometimes.

“I think we did good, but we definitely could’ve pulled it together sooner to have a better outcome,” said Whitted. “The thing we could’ve worked on most was becoming a team and playing as a team.”

Overall Coach Jones loved the memories and getting to know her players.
