JV boys’ basketball dribbles to an end

The JV boys have pushed their hardest to reach success. Working with each other, they have created a strong, bonded team. The team pushed till the very end through practices to become the best team they could be.

“I feel like we have made a lot of progress since the beginning of practice until now,” said Jovanny Cuevas. “I feel like the practice is paying off because the team is playing good together.”

Both Cuevas and Montana Elm played on freshman last year and were happy to move forward with many of the players they had connected with onto JV.

“Overall it’s been pretty good,” said Elm. “My favorite part was probably the overnight stays at hotels and getting bonding time with the team. At the beginning, we were iffy about each other, but as the season went on, we got closer.”

Both Elm and Bryce Niblack noted the team’s improvement. As the season progressed, the team became a stronger group, but this didn’t stop them from making mistakes along the way.

“We grew as a team, and even now we’re still playing better and practices are getting funner,” said Niblack. “There were a few games we could’ve won that we just kind of gave up. That’s probably why we lost.”

At the end of the season, the team finished with a record of 10-13.
