Movie Review: ‘Law Abiding Citizen’

When you pay $7.50 to go see a suspense thriller you expect to be sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the actor’s next move. Although “Law Abiding Citizen” didn’t have me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I was entertained throughout the whole movie. I found myself trying to figure out what was going to happen next and who was behind the whole scheme.

“Citizen” stars Jamie Foxx as a Philadelphia lawyer with a high conviction rate, and Gerard Butler playing an ingenious scientist/engineer with a hunger to get even. Clyde Shelton (Butler) was an everyday law-abiding citizen, who trusted the law to bring justice when his family was killed.

Nick Rice (Foxx), on the other hand, is more out to cut a deal with the killers in hopes of raising his conviction rate. From then on the movie is about the brilliant Shelton making everyone involved in his case pay. The mystifying part is Clyde is doing everything from inside his highly secured jail cell.

The plot was well written and had your attention the whole movie. It is both suspenseful and quite heart-pumping, leaving you guessing until the very end. You are left in your seat wondering how any of the things in this movie are happening.

I think that this movie is definitely well worth your time and money.
