Clay Sagers has been announced as the new vice principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Sagers has loved teaching his students and still loves to teach but he needed a change. He thinks he can help the students and community with what he will bring to the table.

“I have taught for many years and still love teaching, but it was time for a change and that I could help the students and community differently,” said Sagers. “I look forward to working with our awesome staff and students in a different capacity.  I wanted to grow more as an educator and person. I felt that this was a great opportunity to do so and I look forward to working with and learning from Mr. Shaun Taylor and Mr. Austin Mayo.”

Sagers is not sure exactly what his roles and responsibilities will be yet. He and the other administrator will discuss that as the next school year gets closer. Sagers plans to serve the students to the best of his abilities making sure he finds a way to approve the school.

“I plan to serve the staff and students to the best of my abilities,” said Sagers. “I plan to work with the students and staff to try and inspire us to all be better. I want us to be continually looking for ways to improve.”

Sagers has been an educator for many years. He hopes to bring his experience as a multi-lingual (ML) educator to all grade levels K-12 grade. Sagers can communicate with the ML students and parents. He hopes that he will feel comfortable coming to the administrators because he can talk to them in their first language.

“I will bring my experience as an educator who has taught ML students at every grade level from K-12th grade,” said Sagers. “I bring a positive attitude and a drive to help all the students, parents, and community members feel welcome here at the school. I also feel that I will be an administrator that our ML students will feel that they can come to talk to because I have taught them for so long and can speak with the majority of them in their first language.”

Now that Sagers will not be in a classroom anymore he will miss being in the classroom and it will be a change but he plans to get into the classroom as much as he can to help and see what the students are doing.
