How golden were the ‘Golden days’?

How golden were the ‘Golden days’?

At first sight you may think this is just another teenager complaining about how his parents are strict and they wont let them go out and do illegal and stupid things. But it’s not. Recently, I overheard my family talking about how kids these days didn’t have as much fun as they did in their “Golden days.” The truth about parents is that while they are reminiscing about their past, they are not giving us any time to make those memories.

One day while I was grounded, I caught my parents in the midst of talking about their high school memories. Right after that, I kindly went and asked if I could go hang out with a friend. Immediately after they had talked about their amazing friends and fun times in their own high school career, they still said no. Think about it, we obviously just can’t walk out of our house whenever we want, well at least I can’t, they make the time when we can leave and when we have to come back.

Another ridiculous thing that parents do is always complain about how pathetic this generation is with our phones. Truthfully, my dad is on his phone more than I am. But, it is mostly work related things. Phones are stupid and phones are amazing. Sometimes they are just these stupid little objects that control our lives but on the other hand, phones can be very handy and useful. Yes, there are some people who say that if they don’t have their phones they will die, but in all honestly, if there wasn’t cell phones we would all be fine. It wouldn’t be as easy to communicate with each other but we could manage.
