In January 2011 Lowry High School participated in its first annual Warmth Drive. It began on December 14, 2010, and ended on January 14, 2011. Every week the students of Lowry High School were encouraged to bring warm items to their advisory class. The class that gathered the largest amount of warm items was Mrs. Dawson’s advisory class.

Among the clothes they brought were gloves, scarves, and coats. These warm items were taken to the Soup Kitchen where they were to be handed out to any individual who needed them. This year Lowry High was able to gather quite a bit of clothes for this great cause.

The Warmth Drive was organized by the Lowry High School FFA organization. The leader of the Warmth Drive was Jessica Partee, a junior at Lowry High School.

She said, “FFA plans to do this every year.” She believes the Warmth Drive is one of the many things Lowry students can do for those in need. She also wishes to increase the number of warm items for next year’s second annual Warmth Drive.

The organization appreciates all the items that were donated and wants to thank Lowry High School.
