What to Watch: ‘Doctor Who’

By Karen Esparza Posted September 27, 2013

Picture this- a humanoid alien that travels through time and space in a blue police box (a.k.a the TARDIS), occasionally saving entire galaxies and civilizations.

Now I realize the plot sounds borderline insane, but let’s not be too rash to pass judgment. This British television classic has been on the air since 1963 and has entertained audiences from the ages of 6 to 60 for the last 50 years. To start at the beginning of “Doctor Who” would take more than a week on Netflix and an extremely high tolerance for bad special effects. Being a fan of the show myself, I would recommend first-timers start with the 10th Doctor, David Tennant, and work their way up to the present. Because, once a person can look past the initial madness, the amazing adventures, plot twists, and complex characters of the show pulls you right in.

So while you’re bored waiting around for the next season of “The Walking Dead” to start, consider trying out “Doctor Who” who knows maybe you’ll find yourself traveling through time and space right along with him.
