This issue’s Performer of the Issue is Shaelyn Forney. Mrs. Corrine James selected her for more reasons than one. James reports that she is constantly impressed with her performance on and off the stage. James said that Forney helps with costuming and makeup and is an overall great member of the cast. She gives her all into everything she is given and never lets people down.

Forney says that Drama is a very big part of her life and she is very glad she joined. It has changed her perspective on a lot of things in life and it is something she genuinely enjoys doing.

“Drama allows me to be whoever I want to be, it allows me to express myself,” Forney said.

It’s only her second year with James and the rest of the class and she is having a blast. She has gotten close to the cast and she genuinely enjoys working with them.

“They (the cast) are just as crazy as I am, they accept me for who I am and we’re all like one big family,” Forney said.

Not only has she gotten close with the cast, but she has also become very close with James. She calls James a “second mother” to her and names her as a big supporter of her success. Although she has two other very important supporters in her life.

“My parents, encouraged me to do Drama for a second year and they always come to my performances,” said Forney.

She said that her most recent performance of ‘The Little Mermaid’ went well and she was very happy to be working alongside such a talented cast.

Overall, Forney has been incredibly influenced by Drama in her life. She has become close with the cast and Mrs. Corrine James and it has been an overall great experience for her to have.
