TV Review: ‘The Following’

Warning, if you decide to start watching “The Following” you may lose sleep, start sleepwalking, or possibly start quoting the show in the middle of class.

Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) was an FBI agent who was tasked with bringing down Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), one of the most psychotic killers that America has ever seen. Carroll is captured and sent to prison but years later when Carroll escapes Hardy is tasked with hunting him down.

Carroll is a genius criminal who outwits the FBI time and time again, using his cult followers to help him. Carroll shows how much control he has over the United States by ordering his cult to commit evil acts against society to taunt Hardy and his team of FBI agents.

The acting throughout the series is nearly flawless and the show is a testament to one of America’s most underrated actors Kevin Bacon’s skill.

The show has just launched its second season on FOX, showings are Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET and if you want to catch up the first season is available on Netflix.
